DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2

db2pd will fail whenever db2nodes.cfg file has hostnames and 
netnames, but the netnames are different from the hostnames. 
db2pd will get confused when the netname does not have the same 
IP address as the corresponding hostname, because it expects 
hostname and netname to be the same. 
 
The following error message will be generated: 
 
 
$ db2pd -dbp 130 -tablespaces  -db SAMPLE 
Unknown error(s) occurred while processing -member or -host 
option

Users Effected: 
All users using db2pd command 
 
Problem Description: 
DB2PD WITH "-DBP" OPTION FAILS WHEN NETNAMES ARE DIFFERENT FROM 
THE HOSTNAMES. 
 
Problem Summary:

Use hostnames instead of netnames in db2nodes.cfg, either with 
the following format: 
1) node hostname port or 
2) node hostname port hostname
