DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC62878 Status: Closed

WHEN USING BUFFERED INSERT FROM CLI APPLICATION THE OPERATION DEFAULTS TO
ATOMIC WHICH DOESN'T YIELD FULL PERFORMANCE BENEFIT

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
When using buffered insert from CLI application, the operation
defaults to ATOMIC which does not deliver the full performance
benefit.

The full benefit of bufferred insert (a DPF insert performance
enhancement feature for inserting large numbers of rows into
moderate to large DPF tables) can be achieved by taking one of
the following workarounds.

1) Setting patch2=74 in the db2cli.ini file.

2) Setting the connection attribute
SQL_ATTR_NONATMOIC_BUFFER_INSERT (spelling intentional) from
the CLI application.
