Problem IC66501 | Status: Closed |
RARE CONDITION MAY LEAD TO ROLLFORWARD / CRASH RECOVERY PARALLEL FAILURE
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 910 - DB2
Problem description: | |
During parallel recovery, a rare timing condition may cause some internal data to be cleaned up before the other process tries to read it. This could cause a logical assertion to fail during recovery and the instance to be abend. The internal data being prematurely cleaned up is called the object descriptor. In a customer build the problem will fail in function sqlbfix, probe 5 with the following message in the db2diag.log: "fixCB::pageKey and fixCB::obj do not match" There is also a chance that this problem is hit in the following code path as well: sqloDumpEDU + 0x14 sqle_panic__Fv + 0x34 sqlb_panic + 0x88 sqlb_panic@glue134 + 0x74 sqlbSetupObjDesc + 0x1AC sqldFixTCBObj + 0x3F0 @28@sqlbRedoFormatEMP + 0xEC sqlbRedo + 0x3D0 sqldmrdo + 0x738 sqlpRecDbRedo + 0x570 sqlpPRecProcLog + 0x9F4 sqlpParallelRecovery + 0x934 sqleSubCoordProcessRequest + 0x1C0 sqleRunAgent + 0x508 sqloCreateEDU + 0x270 Note again this issue only occurs during recovery.
