DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC78013 Status: Closed

SQLJ.*_JAR AND SQLJ.DB2_*_JAR STORED PROCS CANNOT BE CALLED REMO TELY
AGAINST HOST DATABASES (ZOS, ISERIES, ETC.) FROM NON-JCC CL

product:
DB2 CONNECT / DB2CONNCT / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
When customer attempts to execute SQLJ.*_JAR or SQLJ.DB2_*_JAR
stored procedures from a DB2 LUW client against a host database,
the error that is returned is not very informative. An example
of such an uninformative error is:

SQL30073N "0x2113" Parameter value "0x0000" is not supported.
SQLSTATE=58017

This error gives the impression that one of the input parameters
passed in the stored procedure is not supported. These errors
have been altered to provide a more informative error:

SQL1325N The remote database environment does not support the
command or one of the command options.

This is because the calling of SQLJ.*_JAR stored procedures
against host databases is not supported regardless of the
connection
type used. SQLJ.DB2_*_JAR stored procedures on the other hand
can
be called via JCC clients against host databases.
