DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC82253 | Status: Closed |
QUERY PERFORMS POORLY WHEN NUMEROUS STRUCTURED TYPES ARE CONSTRUCTED (E.G. DB2GSE TYPES)
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Structured type construction is using the default inline length instead of the inline length defined for the type. The result is unnecessary direct reads and writes. If a query constructs numerous instances of a structured type, the poor performance may be noticeable. For example, the following query constructs a st_point structured type object for every row, if there are many rows, the direct read/write costs will result in noticeably slow execution: select count(*), max(db2gse.st_point(longitude, latitude, 1003)..st_maxx) from locations;
