DB2 - Problem description
Problem IT33640 | Status: Closed |
IBM DATA SERVER ADD-INS FOR VISUAL STUDIO (VSAI) DOES NOT SHOW NON-TABLE SCHEMAS
product: | |
DB2 CONNECT / DB2CONNCT / B50 - DB2
Problem description: | |
In Visual Studio (2019) Server Explorer, Data Connection to Db2 [LUW], Change View changed to "By Schema" only shows schemas that contain tables. If we have schemas without tables, they don't appear. Db2Trc shows initial select against SYSCAT.TABLES. If used to determine schema list, this is insufficient. SYSCAT.SCHEMATA would be more correct. Customer's use-case is SP-only schemas, but I am sure other customers have equivalent use-cases. (Even system schemas on some platforms include an SP-only schema.) It should be corrected across all platforms. The Db2 z/OS query is currently using SYSIBM.SYSTABLES; again only retrieving schemas with table objects.
