DB2 - Problem description

SPECTRUM PROTECT SNAPSHOT MIGHT LEAVE ORPHANED VOLUMES AFTER BACKUP OR
CLONE OPERATIONS.

Problem description:
The Spectrum Protect Snapshot might leave orphaned volumes,
consistency groups, and FlashCopy mappings after backup or clone
operations.
This might happen when stopping of a consistency group
containing FlashCopy mappings of a backup or clone takes more
than 5 seconds. The problem is usually seen when either INCR or
NOCOPY FlashCopy type is configured in a DEVICE_CLASS section
for backups or clones.

In the logs the operation is successful:

The orphaned volumes, CGs or FCmaps are visible via subsystem
storage graphical interface.

Comment
The SVCDTA adapter has been fixed so that Spectrum Protect
Snapshot for Unix will not leave behind orphaned consistency
groups, FlashCopy pairs, and volumes.
