Problem IT30417 | Status: Closed |
POTENTIAL LARGE AMOUNTS OF MEMORY CORRUPTION/SERVER ABORT IF ROWLENGTH PORTION OF VARIABLE LENGTH SORT DATA IS CORRUPTED
product: | |
INFORMIX SERVER / 5725A3900 / B70 - IDS 11.70
Problem description: | |
When the server is doing sorts that involve variable length records, the 4 bytes proceeding the sort row is a length. If this length is corrupted, it can cause the server to use bad lengths in bycopy calls, which can cause a large variety of failures due to potential large scale memory corruption.
