Problem description: | |
An Esql/C app trying to connect to an unavailable server quite expectably returns SQL code -908. What's not so expected, and kind of misleading, is an additional ISAM code 107 ("record is locked") which appears to be completely unjustified. You could, for instance, see this with Connection Manager and be misguided into assuming some (sysha) locking problem. Also utilities like dbschema or dbexport/dbimport would report this extra ISAM error, with your server down or otherwise not reachable: $ dbschema -d sysmaster DBSCHEMA Schema Utility INFORMIX-SQL Version 12.10.FC14 -908 - Attempt to connect to database server (al1218tcp_r) failed. 107 - ISAM error: record is locked. | |
