EMPTY BTREE PAGES MAY CAUSE REPACK OPERATION TO HANG

| Problem description: |
If a btree contains empty pages with no slots then a repack
operation may hang in a continuous loop with the repack thread
running frequently. Due to the running state of the repack
thread stacks collected with the onstat -g stk command may not
be accurate but examples may include:

An attempt to interrupt the repack operation may not be
successful and furthermore if the thread has an active
transaction this may cause the Informix server to enter a
blocked state when the transaction becomes long and an attempt
is made to roll it back.
A restart of the Informix server will be necessary to interrupt
the repack operation. |
