When creating or altering tablespaces that use raw devices if the container is already in use by another database it will cause a crash. Example: 1) create database (SAMPLE) 2) create tablespace use raw device as container 3) create database (ACME) 4) create tablespace that uses the same container used in step #2 Step #4 will cause an instance crash. NOTE: This ONLY happens with RAW DEVICES. | |
