Problem IC82804 | Status: Geschlossen |
LOB/LONG TABLESPACE GROWS MUCH LARGER THAN REQUIRED FOR THE ACTUAL DATA BEING STORED
Produkt: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 980 - DB2
Problembeschreibung:
The LOB/LF tablespace can suddenly begin growing in size much faster than it should for the amount of data that is being inserted. There are no error indications of any kind reported unless the tablespace becomes full. Running inspect can show that the total table pages are very high vs. the used pages like below. This high total pages vs used pages result is not expected for tables that are only inserting into the table. INSPECT Output: Table phase start (ID Signed: 5, Unsigned: 5; Tablespace ID: 3) : SCHEMA.TABLE ... LOB phase start. Object: 4 Tablespace: 6 Traversing LOB extent map, anchor 192. Extent map traversal complete. Traversing LBA extent map, anchor 320. Extent map traversal complete. LOB Object Summary: Total Pages 2560 - Used Pages 131 LBA Object Summary: Total Pages 4 - Used Pages 2 LOB phase end. Table phase end.

Local-Fix: | |
There is no workaround that will prevent the exceptional tablespace growth. Short term tablespace relief can only be gained by measures that reduce the overall table size within the tablespace. (ie. reorg -longlobdata, export/truncate/load, atm etc.)
