DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2

when ./installFixPack fails with the following error, trace of 
installfixpack showed it was trying to access  WPAR to run the 
db2greg command.  Error was a "false" error and the real error 
was the failure of the backup of the existing installation when 
it found 
a file missing. 
 
 
No such file or directory

a) use /opt/IBM/db2/V9.7/bin/db2val -a  to identify the missing 
files and replace them or reinstall the product 
OR 
b) Run installfixpack with the -f nobackup option
