If user changes hostname between applying fixpack, InstallFixpack fails with Initializing instance list :.......Success DBI1501E Install failed because the DB2 installer detected a problem while performing an internal operation. Explanation: While installing DB2 database components and related, bundled software the DB2 installer verifies operating system requirements and configuration settings. This message is returned when the DB2 installer detects a problem that will prevent successfully installing or running DB2 database. This message can be returned for many different reasons, including the following common reasons: * There is a problem with the contents of the /etc/hosts file: * The /etc/hosts file does not contain the IP address or host name of the local computer * The /etc/hosts file contains conflicting entries for an IP address or host name * IBM Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms (SA MP) was not installed successfully * Ports that are assigned for the DB2 database server to use are not available or are assigned to other services * The host name of the local computer has changed User response: Perform one or more of the following troubleshooting steps: | |
