DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC61592 Status: Closed

Load utility in DPF environment may not terminate gracefully when error
occurs, may hang or behave incorrectly.

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
In rare situations, the Load utility in a DPF environment may
hang or exhibit unknown behaviour when the utility encounters an
error.
More specifically, the Load coordinating agent process
'db2agent' will successfully interrupt subagents on all
partitions, but the coordinating agent may hang indefinitely or
exhibit unknown behaviour.
Symptoms of such a situation include db2diag.log entries showing
Load subagents and EDUs on all nodes being interrupted and
failing ungracefully, however after this the Load may not return
back to the client. A db2pd -stack may show the Load
coordinating agent process 'db2agent' have a callstack that
contains 'iWorkDuringFinalSyncUp'. Forcing the application may
not effectively interrupt this agent and an instance recycle may
be required.
