DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC61726 Status: Closed

IMPORTING A SHAPEFILE WITH A POLGON THAT INCLUDES A LARGE NUMBER OF
INTERIOR RINGS MAY CAUSE DB2 TO HANG OR CRASH THE AGENT.

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
Importing a shapefile with a polgon that includes a large number
of interior rings may cause
one of the following DB2 failures:

1. Apparent hang of DB2 for an operation that should complete
quickly. May consume
large amounts of CPU resources until process killed by user.

2. Import process takes a very long time but eventually
completes with a message that some
records could not be imported. The import message file contains
the message:
GSE0214N An INSERT statement failed. SQLERROR = "SQL0430N
User defined function "DB2GSE.GSEGEOMFROMBIN"
(specific name "GSEGEOMBIN1") has abnormally terminated.
SQLSTATE=38503".

3. Crash of DB2 instance with message:
SQL1224N The database manager is not able to accept new
requests, has
terminated all requests in progress, or has terminated your
particular request
due to an error or a force interrupt. SQLSTATE=55032
