APPLICATION HANG IN DPF DATABASE.
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
This issue is a timing condition that can result in an application hang. Other queries and applications in the database will not be affected. There are a number of conditions that have to happen that allow for a timing window when this problem can occur as follows: - DPF database - an access plan that involves table queues where one subsection will receive on one tablequeue and then send into another different table queue. - in between the two table queues in the access plan, there is a type of join that features the ability to do an "early out", such as a merge join. - during the query execution, some of the table queue processing have caused table queue spilling. - one of the partition's subsections that is producing rows and sending into the table queue finishes producing data and enters the table queue closing codepath with a particular timing.
