DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC62868 Status: Closed

WHEN CREATING OR ALTERING TABLESPACES THAT USE RAW DEVICES IF THE
CONTAINER IS ALREADY IN USE IT WILL CAUSE A CRASH.

DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
When creating or altering tablespaces that use raw devices if 
the container is already in use by another database it will 
cause a crash. 
 
 
Example: 
1) create database (SAMPLE) 
2) create tablespace use raw device as container 
3) create database (ACME) 
4) create tablespace that uses the same container used in step 
#2 
 
Step #4 will cause an instance crash. 
 
NOTE: This ONLY happens with RAW DEVICES.

Solution
