DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC62928 | Status: Closed |
UTL_MAIL AND UTL_SMTP MODULES FAIL WITH "BAD ARGUMENT" AND SQL0443 WHEN DB2_COMPATIBILITY_VECTOR=ORA
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
The two modules UTL_MAIL and UTL_SMTP provide routines that will interface with an SMTP server and can send emails. If the db2set parameter DB2_COMPATIBILITY_VECTOR=ORA, then some of the routines in these modules may fail with the following message: SQL0443N Routine "UTL_TCP.IMP_WRITE_TEXT" (specific name "UTL_TCP_IMP_WRITE_TEXT") has returned an error SQLSTATE with diagnostic text "UTL_TCP.BAD_ARGUMENT". SQLSTATE=5UA0I This APAR will fix the condition that leads to this SQL error, however it is important to note that it will only fix databases that are created or upgraded to DB2 version 9.7 fixpack 1 or later. If there is an existing database that is created or upgraded to the v9.7 GA release level, then this APAR will not be able to patch the existing database. If this is needed, please contact IBM support.
