DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC63294 Status: Closed

BYTES SAVED OUTPUT IN DB2PD -TEMPTABLE MAY BE INCORRECT

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
The "Total Bytes Saved" output from "db2pd -temptable" command
may display a value that may be lower than the true value if
previous workloads have performed sorts on the table. This
problem occurs because some sorts do not increase the "Total
Bytes Saved" value as much as it should. Note that db2pd will
never overestimate this value, so you can be sure that bytes
saved will always be at least the value shown. This issue
pertains solely to monitoring temporary table
compression, not to temporary table compression itself.

Solution
Workaround
Treat "Total Bytes Saved" output as a lower bound estimate for
