DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC63706 Status: Closed

EXTEND DB2START FUNCTIONALITY TO REMOVE OBSOLETE ENTRIES IN GLOBAL.REG
AND PROFILES.REG

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
Currently, in DB2 9, db2start creates global.reg and
profiles.reg, and adds the entry for the instance, if it does
not exist.
With this APAR, we will extend this functionality, so
that db2start will also remove the entry from a previous
version, if exists.
Both DB2 9 and 9.5 will be changed.
This functionality is to provide a better migration support
especially for a multiple partition environment as well as DB2
on HACMP installation.

To benefit from this APAR, all partitions in a multiple
partition environment (or all members in HACMP clusters) must
run db2start during migration.
