Problem IC63954 Status: Closed

Instance possibly traps if ALTER TABLE statement fails while catalog
cache space management is running concurrently.

Problem description:
If an alter statement fails on a table containing dependent
views, there is a small timing window which can cause the

Cache space management will be invoked by the database manager
only if the catalog cache heap has been exhausted, and new
catalog cache entries need to be inserted. Thus, increasing
theCATALOGCACHE_SZ database configuration parameter will help
avoid this issue from occurring.
