DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC64036 | Status: Closed |
CONTROL CENTER INCORRECTLY USES 4K PAGE SIZE TABLESPACE CONTAINE R SIZE WHEN USING THE CREATE DATABASE WIZARD
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
When creating a new database through the Control Center, the Control Center is currently hard coding the container page size for a tablespace to be 4KB. This is true even if you specified a total pagesize of 8K, 16K or 32K for example. . This APAR will correct the Control Center's "CREATE DATABASE WIZARD" so that it takes into consideration the pagesize of the database when building a container.
Problem Summary: | |
Users Affected: Control Center users. Problem Description: The "CREATE DATABASE" wizard in the DB2 Control Center is hard coding the container pagesize for a tablespace to be 4KB even if a total pagesize of 8KB or higher was specified.
Local Fix: | |
When using the "CREATE DATABASE WIZARD" with the Control Center specify a size that is a portion of what is specified for the database pagesize. For example, if the database pagesize is 8K and you want a 20MB container size, use 10MB as the container size in the Control Center. You can also use the "CREATE TABLESPACE WIZARD" as that takes the pagesize of the database into consideration.
