DB2 - Problem description

SYSFUN.RTRIM IS NOT TRIMMING SPACES PROPERLY WHEN USED ON A DBCLOB

Problem description:
SYSFUN.RTRIM doesn't correctly handle space trimming when used 
on DBCLOB column. Please consider the following SQL 
 
create table test(name dbclob(1G) not logged, namec clob(1G) not 
logged); 
insert into test values ('123  ', '123  '); 
select length(rtrim(substr(namec,1,10))) as len10_clob, 
length(retrim(subs(name,1,10))) as len10_dbclob 
from test; 
 
The select returns the following results 
 
LEN10_CLOB  LEN10_DBCLOB 
----------- ----------- 
          3          10
