DB2 - Problem description

DB2 INSTALL CAN NOT PROCEED IF DOMAIN GROUPS ARE SPECIFIED IN THE GUI
PANEL FOR EXTENDED SECURITY

Problem description:
In a GUI install of V9.7 DB2, if the install user is not a 
domain admin and domain user groups are specified for setting up 
DB2 extended security, an error message such as the followng 
will be displayed: 
 
 
    "The user running the installation program does not have the 
authority to access or update the user account, user group, 
and/or computer type information on computer [xxx]" 
 
This error mesage will be displayed even if those specified 
domain groups already exist. It prevents the install from 
proceeding to the next panel.

Local Fix:
The work around is not to specify domain groups in the 
extended security panel. Instead, you can either; 
1) Use local user groups; or 
 
2) Choose not to set up the DB2 extended security during the 
install. 
Then, after the db2 installation is completed, set it up 
manually with some existing domain user groups.
