Problem IC66065 | Status: Closed |
SETTING TCP_SENDSPACE AND TCP_RECVSPACE ONLY APPLICABLE ON AIX PLATFORM
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 950 - DB2
Problem description: | |
APAR IZ33284 introduced setting the tcp_sendspace/tcp_recvspace to minimum 64K. Customers on Linux platform have come across this message which should only apply to AIX platforms. Linux does not have kernel parameters by these names. In Linux, the corresponding parameters to tune are rmem_max/wmem_max and tcp_rmem/tcp_wmem. It turns out that in Linux kernel 2.6 and later there is auto tuning of these parameters, so we do not need to set them in DB2 code. We are going to apply the above APAR to AIX only and allow the Linux kernel to auto tune these parameters.
