DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC67092 Status: Closed

SQL1224N MAY OCCUR WHEN DOING AN INSERT OR UPDATE ON AN XML INLI NE COLUMN
AND THE COLUMN IS DEFINED IN A TABLE USING A 32K PAGE

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
The following trap can be triggered when doing an Insert or
Update on an XML column which is INLINED and that column is
defined in a 32k page table.
The error can only occur in these conditions, a 32k page allows
for a large enough buffer to hold an in-memory subtree of size >
Uint16 before writing it out
to disk. When the size of the subtree is calculated to determine
whether it fits in the user specified INLINE column length, the
size value is too large for the
defined Uint16 type variable and is overflowed. The bad size
value can then lead to data corruption since the calculated size
is no longer valid and
we could potentially be writing the document to the base table
instead of out to perm.
