Problem IC67843 | Status: Closed |
AN OR PREDICATE CONTAINING INLIST SUBTERM MAY BE REWRITTEN TO UNION
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
An OR predicate can be rewritten to UNION such that the OR subterm predicates can be processed individually at each UNION leg. To receive this rewrite transformation, the OR subterm predicate must meet certain criterion to ensure the superiority of query performance. The case to be handled is OR subterm predicate is an IN predicate. This IN predicate should have a form such that (i) the operand column is a leading index key or a column from the index whose leading columns are bound via local equality predicate and (ii) IN list elements are composed of only constants, host variables, special registers, arithmetic operations, datetime operations, string concat, case expression, casting functions, and scalar functions.
