DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC68010 | Status: Closed |
WHEN A SERVER INSTANCE IS ATTEMPTED TO BE STOPPED FROM A CLIENT,MESSAGE RETURNED IS INCORRECT
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
The 'db2start' and 'db2stop' commands are not supported on client instances. Currently when the customer attempts to stop a remote db2 server instance from a client instance, the following is returned: "db2 stop dbm remote instance <instance name> hostname <host> user <user ID> using <password> force executed successfully" However, the server instance is not stopped. The message should inform that the 'db2stop' command cannot be executed from a client instance and that it can only be executed from a server instance. The 'db2stop' and 'db2start' commands are strictly server based commands. They cannot be executed from a DB2 Client Instance.
