DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC68379 | Status: Closed |
DB2UNINS WITH -U OPTION (TO DO SILENT UNINSTALLATION) SHOULD NOT RETURN UNTIL THE UNINSTALLATION IS FINISHED
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
After the change that this PMR introduces, when you run db2unins with the -u option to uninstall DB2 on Windows, the command does not return until the uninstallation is finished. After the uninstallation is finished, you can look in the uninstallation log to tell whether the uninstallation was successful or not. If the uninstallation was successful, the uninstallation log contains the message "Removal completed successfully." That message is absent if the uninstallation was unsuccessful. Before the change that this PMR introduces, the db2unins command with the -u option returns without waiting for the uninstallation to finish, unless the response file contains REMOVE_PROD=ALL (which means to uninstall all DB2 products).

Local Fix: | |
If you want to uninstall all products in the current DB2 copy, you can specify the response file keyword REMOVE_PROD=ALL and then uninstallation will become blocking. That is, if the response file contains REMOVE_PROD=ALL, the db2unins command exits only after the whole uninstallation process has completed.
