TESTCONNXX UTILITY FAILS WITH NULLREFERENCEEXCEPTION ON STEP 4 |

| Problem description: |
Calling the IBM DB2 testconn11.exe or testconn20.exe program
from DB2 Connect v9.5 or v9.7 fails on step 4 with
a NullReferenceException:

Step 4: Calling GetSchema for tables to validate existance of
schema functions
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an
instance of an object.

at IBM.Data.DB2.DB2Connection.GetSchema(String collectionName,

Those programs should be modified to return a meaningful message
when failing to run any metadata stored procedure.

This APAR will only correct the error message, but it will not
resolve the problem. The GetSchema function will not work when
the DESCSTAT parameter is set to NO. |
