SLOW DB2START IN MICROSOFT CLUSTER (MSCS) ENVIRONMENT
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 950 - DB2
Problem description: | |
A db2start on Windows Cluster environment may be slow due to issue in DB2 licensing module. The delay can be seen between the following two messages in the db2diag.log file: 2010-04-21-10.47.39.465000+120 E3094H367 LEVEL: Info PID : 9696 TID : 8980 PROC : db2syscs.exe INSTANCE: DB2INST NODE : 000 EDUID : 8980 FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, base sys utilities, DB2StartMain, probe:298 DATA #1 : <preformatted> Current FCM parameters configuration: fcm_num_buffers 4096 fcm_num_channels 2048 2010-04-21-10.48.08.044000+120 I3463H544 LEVEL: Event PID : 9696 TID : 9524 PROC : db2syscs.exe INSTANCE: DB2INST NODE : 000 EDUID : 9524 EDUNAME: db2sysc 0 FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, fast comm manager, sqkfBufferManager::initBufferManager, probe:10 START : Starting FCM Buffer Manager 1 resource group(s). 128 buffers allocated. Maximum number of buffers supported is 8192. Total buffer manager memory required for 1 logical and 0 fail-over partition(s) is 860172 bytes.
