DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC68504 Status: Closed

MANY DECLARES AND DROPS (OR DECLARE...WITH REPLACE) OF GLOBAL TEMPORARY
TABLES IN SAME TRANSACTION INCREASES APPLHEAP USAGE

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 950 - DB2
Problem description:
If a single transaction includes many creates and drops of
global temporary tables (most typically by using the "DECLARE
GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE....WITH REPLACE) repeatedly, the
application heap usage increases during the transaction. Only a
commit/rollback will free this memory.

Local Fix:
Commit more frequently or re-use existing declare global
temporary tables (rather than using DECLARE ...WITH REPLACE) if
