**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * DB2 V97 FP1/FP2 on Windows platforms * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * When the db2val.exe tool is used to validate the install * * after a v97 fixpak upgrade, it always report error in the * * files installed, even the db2 product was upgraded to the * * higher fixpak level successfully, and the db2 works * * correctly. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * * The db2val.exe tool only works correctly on a new db2 * * install, untill the problem is fixed in v97fp3. * * Thus, if the V97 DB2 fixpak upgrade install is completed * * successfully and the db2 works correctly, the user need not * * use the db2val.exe tool to validate the fixpak upgrade * * install, which will return a false result. * ****************************************************************
Local Fix: | |
Since the db2val.exe tool reports a false result when it is used to validate the DB2 product after a fixpak upgrade, you can ignore the error it returns. Until this problem is fixed in V97FP1, the db2val.exe tool only works for new installations on the windows platforms.
