DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC70773 Status: Closed

UNDEFINED OWNER AND OWNERSHIP GROUP ARE SET AT THE /ITMA/BIN/TMP DIRECTORY

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 950 - DB2
Problem description:
At V95FP4 installation, customer found that the undefined owner
and ownership group was set at the
/opt/IBM/db2/V9.5_FP4/itma/bin/tmp directory.

v95fp4[/opt/IBM/db2/V9.5_FP4/itma/bin]$ ls -la
drwxrwxrwx    2 3956     7777            256 May 29 2009  tmp

Before FP4 its owner and ownership group were root and system
as same as others. This happens not only V95FP4, but also V97.

The workaround is to change the the owner, group, and permission
on itma/bin/tmp to match other itma directories.

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
* For existing installs, change the ownership of itma/bin/tmp *
* manually.                                                    *
* For new installs, upgrade to V95 FP7. The directory will *
* have proper ownership.                                       *
* (The ownership of existing itma/bin/tmp will not be changed *
* by upgrading to v95 fp7)                                     *
