DB2 - Problem description

DAS SCHEDULER/TOOLSDB DOES NOT WORK WHEN DB2INSTDEF IS SET TO NON DEFAULT

Problem description:
Various errors may occur when using the DB2 Administration 
Server (DAS) on Windows Vista or Windows 7 and when the 
DB2INSTDEF db2set registry variable is set to a location other 
than the default location (C:\ProgramData\IBM\DB2\<copy name>). 
 
For example, when using the DB2 Task Scheduler from within the 
DB2 Control Center, the following error message could occur: 
 
SQL22221N  The scheduler is not active. Reason code "1" 
 
 
Also, when trying to create and catalog the TOOLSDB, the 
following error message could occur: 
 
D:\>db2 create tools catalog SYSTOOLS CREATE NEW DATABASE 
TOOLSDB 
SQL22204N  The DB2 Administration Server encountered a 
non-severe error while executing a request.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:

TEMPORARY FIX: 
Unset the DB2INSTDEF environment variable, so that the default 
 
 
Upgrade product to DB2 v9.7, Fixpack 4.
Local Fix:
Unset the DB2INSTDEF environment variable, so that the default 
location is used (C:\ProgramData\IBM\DB2\<copy name>).   Stop 
and restart both the DAS and the DB2 instance after making the 
change.

Workaround
Unset the DB2INSTDEF environment variable, so that the default

restart both the DAS and the DB2 instance after making the 
change.
