MEMORY LEAK IN AGENT PRIVATE HEAP WITH SINGLETON SELECT INTO .. INCLUDING LOB DESCRIPTOR - IMPACTS QUERY PATROLLER
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
A memory leak in DB2 agent private memory exists on DB2 Version 9.7. Memory is leaked every time an associated application executes a singleton select, i.e. "select into", which includes a LOB descriptor. In application snapshot monitoring, this memory shows up as "Other Memory" for the application. A database manager snapshot will show "Committed private Memory" increasing. The memory will be released if the agent with the leaked private memory terminates (as opposed to being returned to the agent pool). Query Patroller is impacted by this. Significant memory growth may occur each time a purge job is run.
