DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC72080 | Status: Closed |
SNAPSHOT TABLE FUNCTIONS AND ADMIN VIEWS MAY RETURN CHARACTER DATA IN THE WRONG CODE PAGE.
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 950 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Snapshot table functions and admin views perform a database snapshot to retrieve the data requested. The snapshot processing establishes an instance attachment to the database and the code page associated with the instance attachment is determined from the system code page (i.e. the environment in which db2 is started). Snapshot processing converts character data from the database code page to the code page of the snapshot requester if the code pages are different. This means the character data returned from a snapshot table function or admin view will be in the system code page rather than the database code page. The character data may become corrupted on the client side when it is converted from database code page to client code page.
