Problem description: | |
When a V8 DB2 product is upgraded from V8 to V9.7 via a silent install, if an existing DB2 instance is specified in the response file, then the install fails when the installer validate response file, with the following error message : 1: ERROR:The instance "DB2" already exists in the DB2 copy named "DB2V8". Specify a new instance name. | |

This problem can be worked-around with the following: Specifiy a new, different instance name in the response file for the migration install, instead of an existing instance Then, all the existing V8 DB2 instance(s) will be migrated to version 9.7, and the new instance specified in the response file will be created too. | |
