DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC73257 Status: Closed

IF -M IS ANYWHERE IN THE SETUP.EXE COMMAND IT WILL BE TAKEN AS THE -M
PARAMETER

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
If the string of "-m" is put in anywhere in the setup.exe
command, such as in a file name of the install log or response
file, it will be taken as the -m parameter, even you do not
intend to specify that option in the install command. Then, some
basic UI will be displayed during the silent install, such as
the setup progress wizard.

For example look at this command:

setup.exe /f /l "D:\TEMP\Migrate-9.5_9.7.3a.log"
/t "D:\TEMP\Migrate-9.5_2_9.7.3a-trace.log"
/u "D:\TEMP\Setup-9.7-Client-RTC-mig.rsp"

Since "-m" is part of the response file name used in the silent
install, it is picked up as the -m parameter. Thus, the UI level
of the silent install is set as BASIC_UI, where the setup
progress wizard will be displayed. On Windows 7 systems, some
error/warning message might be popped up because of this UI
level.
