DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC73944 | Status: Closed |
DATABASE MEMORY ALLOCATION EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENTS
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Memory allocation requirements of both LOAD and table compression dictionaries are inefficient, causing memory wastage and fragmentation. In the case of table compression dictionaries, excessive memory pool level overhead (logical size - physical size) may be seen in db2pd -alldbs -mempools output for the database heap. In the case of LOAD, frequent load operations may lead to an increase in database memory set level requirements Symptoms include excess memory usage and possibly SQL0973 with the following db2diag.log message. EDUID : 8786 EDUNAME: db2lload 0 FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, database utilities, DIAG_ERROR, probe:0 DATA #1 : String, 143 bytes LOADID: XXXXX Failed to enable fast memblocks , -1961951227, 0, Detected in file:sqlulbuf2.C, Line:2014
