DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC74063 Status: Closed

INCORRECT STATEMENT INFORMATION REPORTED IN APPLICATION SNAPSHOT
ACCOMPANIED BY INCREASING MONITOR HEAP CONSUMPTION AND SQL PERF

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
An application repeatedly executing a routine within the same
UOW may experience incorrect application snapshot information,
memory growth in monitor heap, and performance degradation. In
order for this problem to occur, the following conditions must
be satisfied:

- Statement monitoring is on
- The application calls a UDF or routine repeatedly within the
same UOW and the routine issues SQL statements
- The symptoms are likely to be more pronounced if MON_HEAP_SZ
is set to AUTOMATIC or a large fixed value

Application snapshots will contain increasing numbers of
repeated statement elements with the same package/section/cursor
information. Increasing growth of memory allocations from the
monitor heap may also be observed, and SQL statements executed
by the application may experience gradual performance
degradation.
