DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC74156 | Status: Closed |
CRASH RECOVERY INCORRECTLY RETRIEVING LOG FILES FROM ARCHIVE IGNORING THE COPY IN THE ACTIVE LOG PATH
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
With OVERFLOWLOGPATH set and infinite logging enabled (LOGSECOND=-1) DB2 will retrieve more log files than it needs to. If DB2 needs log files that have been archived to perform crash recovery it will retrieve them to the OVERFLOWLOGPATH. Once a log file retrieve has been performed, DB2 will attempt to retrieve all subsequent log files from the archive location pre-emptively. DB2 will not stop until all archived logs have been retrieved.
