DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC74617 Status: Closed

REDISTRIBUTE CONTINUE ON TABLES WITH VALUE COMPRESSION FAILS WITH 901 ERROR
OR MAY CONTAIN EXTRA GARBAGE ROWS AFTER

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 950 - DB2
Problem description:
The problem occurs on compressed tables with VALUE COMPRESSION
enabled or tables which have had their column definition altered
prior to the redistribute.

If the redistribute fails after the dictionary has been created
on one of the new partitions, redistribute recovery may fail
with a message similar to the one below in the db2diag.log:

It is also possible but less likely that redistribute recovery
will continue, but the dictionary will not be saved on the new
partitions. As a result garbage rows will be seen in the table
on the new database partitions.
