DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC74687 Status: Closed

DB2SUPPORT -A MAY MAKE DB UNCONNECTABLE ON WINDOWS

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
On Windows, currently the default DIAGPATH is same as the
instance path. If a user doesn't modify DIAGPATH to another
path, and use db2support -A to archive everything under the
DIAGPATH, which will accidentally archive everything including
the SQLDBDIR, security directories as well as other system files
under the path. Thus the "connect to db" will fail afterwards.

For example, some errors returned could be like the following:
C:\Documents and Settings>db2 connect to testdb
SQL1323N An error occurred when accessing the audit
configuration file.
SQLSTATE=57019

C:\Documents and Settings>db2 connect to testdb
SQL1031N The database directory cannot be found on the
indicated file system.
SQLSTATE=58031

We need to disable the db2support -A on Windows to avoid this
issue.
