DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC75118 | Status: Closed |
INSTALLATION FAILS BECAUSE VERIFYPREREQSCA IS UNABLE TO VALIDATE THE DOMAIN ACCOUNT FROM THE %USERDOMAIN% ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 950 - DB2
Problem description: | |
This problem does not happen when the db2 install is launched normally, including both GUI and rsp file based silent install. However, when the db2 is installed with a automated method via some perl script or Tivoli Software Distribution, the install may fail in the function VerifyPrereqsCA: When the installer tries to validate the logon user account, it might fail to get the domain user name by retrieving the %USERDOMAIN% environemnt variable. The solution for this problem is: even if the installer fails to retrieve the %USERDOMAIN%, write an error message into the install log, and let the DB2 install proceed, instead of stopping the install. For your reference, the following is a section in the install log files when the problem happens: Action start 9:17:16: VerifyPrereqsCA. 1: The installation program has been unable to find the name of the user currently logged on to the operating system. The error code returned by the Networking API is "1008". Action ended 9:17:16: VerifyPrereqsCA. Return value 3. Action ended 9:17:16: INSTALL. Return value 3.
