DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC75706 | Status: Closed |
HADR STANDBY CAN IGNORE ARCHIVED LOGS IN LOCAL CATCHUP IF OVERFLOWLOGPATH IS SET
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
The HADR Standby reads all locally-available log files during Local Catchup. This includes log files in its active log path, as well as log files available from a log archive device. A problem can occur in this process if: 1) the Standby has a copy of a log file in its active log path AND 2) the Standby tries to retrieve the log file from the archive AND 3) the Standby has OVERFLOWLOGPATH configured. In such a scenario, the Standby will incorrectly transition to Remote Catchup prematurely, even though more log files are available in the archive. The Standby will then request log files from the HADR Primary, and otherwise function normally.
