DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC76716 | Status: Closed |
LOAD SESSION HOLD Z LOCK AND TRANSACTION LOG RECORD, CAN NOT BE FORCED OFF.
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
With a DPF load, the load init subagents (db2linit) may encounter delay in starting up in rare situations (e.g. due to network performance issues), and if the load is being interrupted (e.g. due to remote client termination detected) within a certain small timing window, in extreme cases the load may finish rollback and terminates, before a db2linit finally starts up at a remote node. The now-"orphaned" db2linit may hold a Z-lock on the load target table (and possibly other resources) and fail to release it properly, and it cannot be forced off -- the only way to recover is to restart the DB2 instance.
