Problem description: | |
When you try to deinstall a DB2 copy that was installed as a non-root user and specify a log filename that cannot be created or if the logfile already exists but cannot be updated by the non-root user you will receive an incomplete error message and the deinstallation continues. All the log messages are printed to standard output and no log file will be generated. The following example describes the case when the log file, /tmp/deinstall.log, already exists and does not have write permission for the non-root user: $ ~/sqllib/install/db2_deinstall -a -l /tmp/deinstall.log DBI1016I Program db2_deinstall is performing uninstallation. Please wait. The log file "" cannot be created. No log will be generated. Previously Installed Products: DB2 Enterprise Server Edition Selected Products: DB2 Enterprise Server Edition ....
