DB2 - Problem description

INSTALLFIXPACK -F NOBACKUP DOES NOT BYPASS BACKUP OPERATION

Problem description:
The DB2 installer will attempt to backup all DB2 files even if 
-f nobackup is used for installFixPack. 
 
If a file from the DB2 install path is deleted, the following 
errors will be noticed while installing the fix 
pack using installFixPack. 
 
e.g.  /opt/IBM/db2/V97/acs/DSDeviceErrors.txt is removed. 
 
./installFixPack -f nobackup  -b /opt/IBM/db2/V9.7

Getting error 
Preparing the system :.......Success 
Back up the file "/opt/IBM/db2/V97/acs/DSDeviceErrors.txt" 
failed since it does not exist. 
 
Some error occurred while move file, 
"/opt/IBM/db2/V97/acs/DSDeviceErrors.txt", to directory, 
"/opt/IBM/db2/V97/.backup/acs". 
 
ERROR: Some error occurred while moving file(s) during backup or 
restore to directory, "/opt/IBM/db2/V97/.backup". The return 
code is "4294967295". 
 
Back up the file 
"/opt/IBM/db2/V97/.backup/acs/DSDeviceErrors.txt" failed since 
it does not exist. 
 
After applying the fix, the DB2 installer will skip the backup 
process and no errors will be shown if files are missing.
